The Mud House Workshop: Create Your Own Ceramic Animal Whistle with Emma Carlow
Join Emma Carlow for a half-day workshop inspired by her exploration of folk art whistles at the British Museum. In this hands-on experience, you'll learn to craft and decorate your very own ceramic animal whistle, drawing inspiration from both Emma's collection and the fascinating examples around the world.
Once your creations are complete, they will be left for drying and firing, and you can return to pick up your unique whistles in a few weeks' time.
Emma Carlow, an artist and designer based in Lewes, East Sussex, leads this workshop. Her work draws inspiration from folk art around the globe, celebrating the craftsmanship of everyday objects used in various cultural celebrations and rituals. Emma also has a deep passion for toys, exploring how they represent our identity and world. She delights in crafting Indian street toys that transform everyday materials into whimsical creations.
